CARRIER OILS

What Are Carrier Oils?

Like essential oils, carrier oils are also oils can be used in conjunction with essential oils to make them a bit more skin-friendly. Essential oils are very well known for their aromatherapy benefits, specifically when used in conjunction with a diffuser.

However, some essential oils can also offer topical benefits that go beyond simply making your body smell nicely.

In the event that you would like to use an essential oil topically, you would be required to dilute it with something called a “carrier oil.” Essentially, carrier oils serve as a secondary substance to dilute the intensity of an essential oil and make it more conducive to the surface of your skin. You might typically find carrier oils used in topical essential oil formulas found on the open market.

However, you can also dilute your own essential oils with a carrier oil such as vegetable oil to create a home-made massage formula that provides topical benefits and a wonderfully pure aroma.

Common carrier oils include grape seed oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, and others.

Using A Diffuser

One of the best ways to reap the benefits from essential oils is to purchase a simple aromatherapy diffuser. These small appliances are about the size of a large coffee mug and require the use of water and electricity to essentially diffuse the oil into the air in your surrounding space. With just a few drops of your favorite essential oil, along with an appropriate amount of water, you can spread the natural aromas of your essential oil throughout a space for hours on end.

Essential oils are very well known for their intense aromatic experience, and the various aromas that you can find from essential oils all serve different purposes. For instance, lavender essential oil might be used to create a relaxing and spa-like environment, perfect for sleeping, meditation, relaxing, etc., while peppermint essential oil would be a wonderful aromatherapy scent for moments of intense focusing.

All different essential oils offer different aromas and purposes when it comes to aromatherapy – and the best way to leverage the benefits of essential oils and their aromatherapy properties is to find the right diffuser that works for you. At Momly By S, we offer a wide range of diffusers for you to choose from.
